I have been working closely with the guys from Teach Pips for the last six months, a Bangkok based Edu tech company. Teach pips is a subscription based online education portal aimed at Parents, Tutors and Schools. They promise to deliver high quality education resources at a reasonable monthly price. We were commissioned to create their website and online portal where subscribers can view and download educational resources from anywhere in the world. We designed and developed a bespoke web app and admin section, giving them the ability to upload lessons in Jpeg or PDF format. The lessons can then be viewed and downloaded through the website, in a purpose built viewing platform, similar to Youtube. Where you can scroll though lessons and enlarge to fill screen. The first site was made live in October of last year and was soft launched to parents and tutors. The initial feedback was excellent but they felt that there needed to be some incentive for the pupils to work through the 300 lessons. The idea of creating a map was suggested by the founders, with six zones representing the six year groups. There would be 50 lessons per year group and the students would work their way around the map. This was so much fun to create, we first designed and illustrated the map before creating as an interactive world. We created a Google maps esc version with x6 zoom. Each lesson had its own spot on the map, and the individual avatars would move around the map on completion of lessons. We developed a bespoke backend admin section, where not only could the lesson be uploaded, but the progress of individual students and school groups could be tracked. Feedback from lessons and quiz to ensure full understanding of topic was also developed and implemented. To ensure that the subscription service worked smoothly, the web app is linked to online payment portals and we installed email management systems to keep customers updated and informed about their subscriptions.
